Partners with common purpose.

Being a supplier to Weskus Distrik involves more than a contract and SLA. Suppliers are treated with utmost respect and are viewed as partners with common purpose. CFO Dr Johan Tesselaar explains.

“Everything hinges on service delivery, irrespective of the services or products being procured.

This understanding of purpose creates a bond with our suppliers.

If you win a tender to construct a road, you’re contracting to get children to and from school safely or getting the farmer’s produce to market in good shape.

Or, if you’re our communications partner, you’re contracting to position us in an optimal way to attract investors or tourists.

You’re also contracting at a compliance level because you know that our record of clean governance ripples into all that we do – it attracts investors, enables service delivery, lifts the heads of our community, and provides funders with confidence among others.

In recognising our suppliers as partners, we treat them with respect.

One of the ways that we acknowledge their contribution is by presenting partners who have gone above and beyond with the Mayor’s HERO AWARD, which is received with great pride.

Mostly, the way that we acknowledge our partners reflects the desired relationship between the private and public sectors, recognising that common purpose provides meaning to the transaction”.
