Members of the community are hereby invited to submit written comments or
representation on the intention of the West Coast District Municipality to establish a
Municipal Entity focussing on the following:
- Building of a berth and exploring business opportunities within the
SBIDZ/Freeport; - Facilitating shared services benefits by means of: Contact- and Data Centre;
- Smart District Solutions;
- Bulk Water including purification mechanisms;
- Renewable energy solutions;
- Act as special purpose vehicle between WCDM & private sector by means of the
Innovative & Business Excellence Hub; - Hosting conferences & events;
- Fostering strategic partnerships; and
- Hosting Weskus Academy.
A copy of the Council Resolution (25/05/28/9.2 dated 28 May 2025) is available for
inspection on the municipal website (www.wcdm.co.za) as well as Room 32 WCDM
Head Office 58 Long Street Moorreesburg Western Cape during normal office hours.
Comments or representations must be in writing and addressed to: The Municipal

within 30 days from the date of this notice.
Any person who cannot write may visit the offices at 58 Long Street Moorreesburg
Western Cape during normal office hours where a staff member of the municipality will
assist to transcribe any comments or representation.

voorleggings in te dien oor die voorneme van die Weskus Distriksmunisipaliteit om ‘n
Munisipale Entiteit te stig wat fokus op die volgende:
- Bou van ‘n aanlegplek en ondersoek van besigheidsgeleenthede binne die
SBIDZ/Freeport; - Fasilitering van gedeelde dienste deur middel van: Kontak- en Databasisentrum;
- “Smart District” oplossings;
- Grootmaat water insluitend suiweringsmeganismes;
- Hernubare energie-oplossings;
- Optree as ‘n spesiale doeleindes-voertuig tussen WCDM & die privaat sektor deur
middel van die Innovasie- en Sake-uitnemendheidshub; - Aanbieding van konferensies en geleenthede;
- Bevordering van strategiese vennootskappe; en
- Aanbieding van die Weskus Akademie.

Hoofkantoor, Langstraat 58, Moorreesburg, Wes-Kaap tydens gewone kantoorure.
Kommentaar of voorleggings moet skriftelik wees en gerig word aan: Die Munisipale
Bestuurder, Posbus 242, Moorreesburg 7310 of per e-pos aan
westcoastdm@wcdm.co.za binne 30 dae vanaf die datum van hierdie kennisgewing.
Enige persoon wat nie kan skryf nie, kan die kantore besoek by Langstraat 58,
Moorreesburg, Wes-Kaap tydens gewone kantoorure waar ‘n munisipale
personeellid sal help om enige kommentaar of voorlegging neer te skryf.
