It is not surprising that Weskus Distrik’s Executive Mayor was a Northern Cape farmer before gravitating to politics and public service. Following a farm invasion, he switched to politics and public service with a mission to become part of the solution.
It is also no surprise that you’ll seldom see him sporting his mayor’s chain. For our Executive mayor it’s not about who he is but what he does.
Roelof is particularly proud of Distrik Weskus’ clean audit track record but is quick to point out that while he plays a leadership role, the kudus belong to Municipal Mayor David Joubert and CFO Johan Tesselaar and their teams for delivering the vision and always striving to be the best.
